ABOUT ME
As a therapist, Aimee aims to provide a warm, creative and inquisitive atmosphere to explore concerns and overcome stressful life events. Her therapeutic style is based on the principle of ‘organicity’ that respects each individuals innate capacity for healing and natural movement towards growth. She encourages you to be curious about the process of therapy and to set the pace and limit of change that feels suitable.
Aimee has been working as part of a team of practitioners at the telehealth-based clinic Dokotela. In this role she provides therapy for various conditions such as depression, anxiety, adult attachment issues, addiction and trauma. She is interested in uncovering unconscious processes to not only alleviate symptoms, but to help you lead a richer, fuller life.
Aimee uses a range of therapeutic approaches that include Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Somatic (Body-Based) Therapy, Psychodynamic theory and Internal Family Systems. Irrespective of the approach applied, Aimee will always dedicate herself to improving your quality of life by fostering within you a stronger sense of purpose and resilience.
Aimee has a special interest in supporting the LGBTQI+ and neurodivergent communities, and sees clients aged 16+. In 2025, Aimee will be training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a technique developed to treat PTSD that uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements) while processing traumatic memories to reduce their emotional intensity.
Aimee is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) and is a member of AAPi. In addition to her work as a therapist Aimee is involved in screenwriting and costume design.
